Cherkasy "Azot" completed the modernization of the ammonia production plant

At Cherkasy-based Azot, part of the Group DF group of nitrogen enterprises, the modernization of the A-5 ammonia production plant has been completed. Investments amount to UAH 22.28 million.

The overhaul and reconstruction works have been completed. The plant gradually gained momentum and reached the planned production capacity.

“We have completed a month-long overhaul of the A-5 ammonia plant. The main task was, first of all, to restore the resource of technological equipment, increase energy efficiency of production, improve cost indicators and reduce the cost of finished products. Qualitative modernization of the shop is the key to successful operation of the enterprise as a whole, as ammonia is a raw material for further production of fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate, urea, urea-ammonia mixture (CAS)", - comments Vitaliy Sklyarov, Chairman of the Board of PJSC "AZOT".

All structural divisions of the enterprise, workers of the shop, and also about 120 experts of the contracting organizations were involved in works on modernization of shop A-5.

In 2020 the enterprise had UAH 324.1 million was invested.

The company covers ammonia production plants: A-3 (design capacity - 1200 tons/day, 2 units are working) and A-5 (1700 tons/day) . Urea (urea) production plants M-2 (design capacity - 1000 tons/day) and M-6 (1000 tons/day). N-nitric acid production plant (3240 tons/day, 9 units are working). Shop for the production of ammonium nitrate M-9 (2970 tons/day, two granulation towers), production of CAS (3000 tons/day), other departments.

For the 1st quarter of 2020, the company released 511.7 thousand tons of nitrogen fertilizers.
