NAAS gives advice on feeding crops
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the dose of nitrogen fertilizers in spring feeding is determined by many factors (predecessor, state of crops, level of basic fertilizer) and mineral nitrogen reserves in the soil. That is why "first of all, it is necessary to feed thinned and underdeveloped crops, where the approximate dose of nitrogen fertilizers in the active substance during the recovery of spring vegetation should be 60-70 kg/ha, on crops in satisfactory condition - 50-60 kg/ha, in good — 20-30 kg/ha. On well-rooted winter crops (mainly winter rye), provided they have a good wintering, the first feeding of plants in the early spring period can be postponed to a period 8-10 days after the restoration of spring vegetation."
It should be noted that these are generally accepted, proven by science and many years of production experience doses of nitrogen fertilizers for fertilizing crops of winter grain crops, depending on their condition after overwintering.
At the same time, it is also necessary to remember the unproductive losses of nitrogen for various types of fertilizers: urea - 4-45%, ammonium sulfate - 24-27%, ammonium nitrate - 18-20%, calcium nitrate - 10-12%, carbamide ammonia mixture- 3-5%.
