Soy producers will need a new certificate when exporting

In 2024, Ukrainian soybean exporters may need a traceability certificate for deliveries to the European Union. This was stated by   Volodymyr Pugachev, executive director of the "Danuyska Soya" association, agronews.ua writes.

As the expert noted, the new legislation of the European Union on combating deforestation introduces strict requirements for the traceability of each individual batch of imported soybeans all the way to the field. In particular, fields where soybeans are grown must not have had any deforestation in the past, and companies must properly certify this in accordance with the European Union's innovations.

"Complying with the sanitary requirements of the importing country, as well as monitoring changes in local legislation, is extremely important for the export-oriented sector of Ukrainian soybean production," explained the director of the association.
