The US International Trade Commission adopted an affirmative decision on the need to introduce duties to import phosphate fertilizers from Russia and Morocco.
According to the results of the investigation, which began in the summer of 2020, on the initiative of the Seven American manufacturer MOSAIC, ITC found that imports of phosphate fertilizers from these countries make damages to local producers, the initiator of the investigation reported.
Based on the decision of the Commission, the US Department of Commerce will introduce compensation duties on the import of phosphorus-containing fertilizers from Russia and Morocco. Previously, the duties rates were determined at 9.19% for the "PhosAgro", 47.05% for EuroChima, 17.2% - for the other Russian manufacturers, 19.97% - for Moroccan OCP.
Duties are introduced for a period of 5 years. Duties will begin to act since April 2021. US Customs is already collecting cash deposits with importers on the basis of established rates.
