In Ukraine, winter crops lag behind in development by 4 weeks
This autumn, the lag of winter crops in phase development, compared to multi-year periods, is 3-4 weeks. This is reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy with reference to the data of NAAS, writes agronews.ua.
Given the phased state of development, the dependence of the future harvest of winter crops on the weather conditions of the winter of 2022-2023 will be extraordinary.
According to average long-term data, mass tillering is usually observed in most crops at the end of October. Today, according to the information of the Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, only those crops of winter crops (wheat, triticale, rye, barley) that were sown at the optimal time (September 25) are in the "trubbing" phase.
The height of the plants, depending on the culture and variety, varies between 11.7-14.5 cm. The length of the growth cone is 0.18-0.25 mm. The coefficient of tugging is 1.1-1.6. The condition of crops is mostly good.
